🌺 Wishlist: Summer Get-Up 🌺
11:20
We all tend to feel a little brighter when the sun is out (forgive the pun) Whether that be trudging through the Glastonbury mud, stomping through humid city streets or sauntering around a Greek holiday resort. I'm sat here writing this on an overcast and windy Summer solstice aka, the longest day of the year. Maybe the Druids at Stonehenge can trigger a spell to push the grim weather away?
Most people will tell you that the key to dressing for Autumn and Winter is mostly about layering. However, the art of getting it right can be tricky and unfortunately I've yet to master it properly. Many of my attempts of trying to layer look less New York street style and more dragged through a hedge backwards.
But alas, those magical few months are upon us where we can now wear a dress without tights, so in the spirit of things here's a wish list under the cut:

1. I love slingbacks. Effortless and comfortable. Check out this pair from Topshop. A lovely patent off-white. YES. Suitable for all your dancing needs and they'd also look fab with a denim dungaree dress, yes?
2. Anything involving stripes are my go to item, I think stripes in any form just make any outfit look instantly better with minimal effort, à la Jane Birkin. This wrap dress is another Topshop number. I love the navy and red, mixed and the pink and light brown give it a candy-coloured twist. It makes me wish I was wearing it, breezing about in Italy with a handsome European man and a glass of wine in hand.
3. Essie have always had a good selection of colours, two of my favourites are Mamba and Meet me at Sunset. A great neutral and strong bright shade that will both look great with any outfit you throw together, Essie is avaliable at Boots, Superdrug and online.
4. Check out this lovely navy shorts from New Look. High-Waisted with a simple white, tape detailing along the hem. Also avaliable in Dark Red or Khaki if navy's not your thing.
5. Kate Moss' first collection for Topshop included the most gorgeous Red poppy print dress, It was the covetable item of the moment. I say this because these Zara culottes are very similar in terms of print and I love, love them. Light, airy and a beautiful colour, they also happen to be on sale right now.
6. I adore maxi dresses that have a side-split and this one ticks that box. A wonderful Khaki coloured dress from New Look again. I like this one because you can easily take this from a day to night outfit with a few added accessories, a good all rounder for your wardrobe.
ALSO. Check out the post below to see a collage of the items I've written about.
